Clark No. of Followers: 689K Hometown: Detroit, Michigan Goals: Acting, Dancing, and Fashion Work: BookingKCClark@gmail.com; www.versatilenstyle.com Social media rules the world. OK, we may be stretching it a bit. If you really think about big business and the impact it has on consumers, brands, and how society operates, then YES, social media does rule the world. However, social media networks also bring on a new set of rules when it comes to entertainment. Nowadays, we rely on social media for our daily news, gossip, comedy, and anything else that can be posted as an image or 15 second video. Oftentimes, it’s one individual who is behind the profile page that’s running a full-on entertainment operation, and not a TV network or top-tier news outlet. Who are these social media darlings that has conjured up a culture of its own? Who does STACKS Magazine consider to be #INSTAFAMEUS? Well, we decided to surf the social playground of Instagram to find the best and brightest new crop of entertainers and/or entrepreneurs. Although, these individuals receive loads of attention through a swarm of social media fans, we wanted to take a moment to recognize them formally and dig a little deeper into lives. Davon Woods (@sboylife), K.C. Clark (@versatilenstyle) , Danny (@eccentricdanny), Dennis Belton (@dbeltonjr), and Quinnie (@quinnie416) In October 2014, STACKS Mag’s very own Quinnie had the opportunity to meet up with VersatilenStyle a.k.a. K.C. Clark and find out what he’s been up to. It was his very first visit to New York City and, even with all of the excitement of the “Big Apple,” he made time to catch up with us in Central Park. This was his very first stop in NYC and first interview. K.C. has a lot going on and some major plans for his future. We all know Kee Kee, but who is K.C. Clark? KC: I am 20 years and an aspiring actor, dancer and I am into fashion. I am just following my dreams. I see that you were doing something for charity, a good cause. What is that about? KC: I joined up with a group of friends to start “Enjoy Detroit” and from that we decided to do something for our community. This project is so special to me, it’s called “24 Hour U-Haul Project.” We literally rented a U-Haul and drove around the city collecting donations for the less fortunate. We collected so much in 24 hours. We got about 5 TV’s, clothes and shoes for children of all ages. People were calling up saying, “I got 3 bags of clothes at this address,” and we just went and got it. We teamed up with charities in communities to help us provide the donations. Do you want to keep this good cause local or expand? KC: Yes, we want to expand to other cities and states. We call it “Challenge for a Cause” and we challenge every city to do it better than Detroit. When did you become Insta-FameUs? KC: It took a while. I started posting videos last summer [2013] after I messed up in school in Atlanta. I came home to Detroit. I didn’t have a job and I was just depressed. One day my brother showed me Vine and that’s when it all started. I posted a video of me and grandma and it just went viral. My second video was a video about how to act in an argument and that got even more love than my first video, and ever since then I just kept going. I started doing skits and people were reposting. Shout out to Repost Whiz and who ever made that app because that’s what helped me. Where did the character Kee Kee come from? KC: Kee Kee came from my name because it starts with K and every hood has a Kee Kee. Every girl has a little bit of Kee Kee in her. I try to base my videos on real life and Kee Kee is real. It’s crazy because people will walk up to me and say hey Kee Kee, or they will say “Who is she?” How has life changed? KC: I love to party. I used to be the guy that’s dancing and step on somebody shoes. The difference today is – that now – I’m not stepping on anybody shoes because I am the one on the stage. What celebrities have you met? KC: I met Keyshia Cole and Teyana Taylor. They are so down to earth. What celebrity do you want to meet? KC: Jamie Foxx, because he can be funny and then be serious. He’s so talented. Stacks Magazine had a great time catching up with K.C. Clark. We wish you the best and Jamie Foxx holla at ya boy! You can find K.C.
