HomeThe Script5-4-3-2-1[EXCLUSIVE] Teen Heartthrob, Trevor Jackson, Gets Deep with Upcoming Movie Role admin Monday, February 23, 2015 5-4-3-2-1, Feature, Film & Television, The Script, The Vault By: Jasmine York, freelance writer (@jasmineyorkthewriter) “Sons 2 The Grave” is a feature film written and produced by Lynne Stoltz and directed by Mykelti Williamson. This drama outlines the life and tragic death of a teenage basketball phenom played by actor and Atlantic Records recording artist Trevor Jackson. The story highlights the division amongst two neighboring communities, the silence of cowards in the wake of a murder, and the similarity the neighbors shared that also ended the basketball phenom’s life: fear. “Fear of staying, fear of leaving, and the fear of appearing weak.” “Sons 2 The Grave” is centralized off the theme, “We’re born sons and we die sons,” a theme which Trevor Jackson believes hits close to home for many people in the black community. “I feel like a lot of people make a lot of decisions on impulse or anger or different things. But, I feel as though this movie makes you really think twice before you do something or agree to something,” said Trevor. “A lot of us are born sons and die sons because we don’t get to make it to be fathers. A lot of us die before we’re 25… sometimes it’s a little too soon.” “Sons 2 The Grave” also stars Darrin Dewitt Henson, Maria Howell, Demetria McKinney, Brad James, Justin Martin, and T.I’s son Messiah Harris. When asked what it was like working on set with the cast, Trevor stated… “Everybody that was on set has been in entertainment for a long time, so we were able to learn from each other and grow as people and as artists. The cast was incredible and also the crew. Everybody was just so nice and loving.” Trevor also shared his thoughts about working on set with a writer who is also the producer. “Whether it was the same person or not, I feel like it’s a collaborative effort. Her being both, it’s not like it meant she was the end all be all. She definitely allowed everybody to have creative control and made sure we were all on the same page.” In the midst of the controversial ethnic profiling going on in this nation, “Sons 2 The Grave” seems to be a relevant film that many of us can relate to and can learn from. “I feel like everybody can relate. Whether it’s with basketball or school or whatever, you always have to make a decision. You always have to make sacrifices,” said Trevor. Have Faith Productions has begun shooting “Sons 2 The Grave” in Atlanta, GA. The film is set to debut later this year in June, so mark your calendars. You don’t want to miss it.
