Pelicans Anthony Davis Named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

New Orleans Pelicans Forward Anthony Davis was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played March 9 through March 15. Davis led the Pelicans to a 2-1 record with wins against the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets. Davis averaged 31.3 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4.7 blocks for the week. Davis tied his career-high with 43 points making an amazing 17 out of 23 shots from the field to go along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists in a 114-103 win against the Bucks.

Davis had 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks in a 111-91 win against the Nets. In a 118-111 double overtime loss against the Denver Nuggets, Davis flirted with a quadruple-double and recorded 36 points, 14 rebounds, 9 blocks and 7 assists. This was Davis first-time in his three-year NBA career winning the award. Davis is having a career year with career-highs across the board averaging 24.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 1.4 steals.
