Russell Westbrook Earns NBA Western Conference Player of the Month

Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Russell Westbrook was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for February. Westbrook averaged 31.2 points, 10.3 assists and 9.1 rebounds for the month and led the Thunder to a 9-3 record. Westbrook joined Oscar Robertson as the only player to average 31 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds in a calendar month. The final three games of the month Westbrook posted three consecutive triple-doubles.

Westbrook best game of the month was in a 117-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns when he posted 39 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals. In a 102-91 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans he had 45 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. In a 119-94 victory against the Denver Nuggets he had 21 points, career-high 17 assists and 8 rebounds. Westbrook posted a triple-double with 25 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds in a 104-97 victory against the Orlando Magic.

Westbrook also led the Western Conference to a 163-158 victory against the Eastern Conference in 2015 NBA All-Star Game. Westbrook won the All-Star MVP award after scoring 41 points and grabbing 5 rebounds, his 41 points was one shy of the All-Star record. Westbrook is currently averaging 26.5 points, 8.1 assists. 6.8 rebounds and 2 steals a game. Westbrook points, rebounds and steals are all career-highs for him.
