Kevin Love will miss the remainder of the playoffs for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love tore the labrum in his left shoulder and will need four to six weeks to heal. Love would need surgery if his shoulder doesn’t properly heal. Love was injured in the first quarter in game four in the Cavs first-round series against the Boston Celtics. Love was averaging 14.3 points and 7 rebounds in the first-round series against Boston. This was Love’s first playoff appearance in his seven -NBA career and unfortunately it ended early due to injury. Love is a member of Cleveland’s Big Three and it will be up to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving to carry the team the remaining of the playoffs. Irving has played well in his first playoff appearance and the Eastern Conference semifinals won’t be as easy. Tristan Thompson should start in place for Love at power forward, while Shawn Marion, Timofey Mozgov and Kendrick Perkins minutes should increase. Even though the Cavs didn’t have the best record in the East, they are the favorites to represent the East in the NBA Finals. Losing Love to injury does hurt and the Cavs should be rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks to defeat the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls probably have the best frontcourt in the NBA, they are definitely one of the top three. Love may have played his last game as a Cavalier. Love is a free agent and could possibly sign with another team. The Cavs wasn’t guaranteed to make it to the NBA Finals, but losing Love will make the road much harder if they do end up representing the East in the Finals.
