HomeFeatureFilmRise & Time Warner Cable Seek Local Filmmakers… admin Thursday, April 30, 2015 Feature, The Connect via press release… FilmRise, a Brooklyn-based film and TV distributor, today announced it is working to fill a new documentary category on Time Warner Cable Local On Demand (TWC Local on Demand). FilmRise is now actively seeking feature-length and short documentary film submissions to consider for the new On Demand category. Film submissions should focus on regional topics – specific to New York, Southern California, Texas and North and South Carolina – that offer viewers a chance to explore the communities they live in and, in turn, the world at large. Film submissions may range from 15 to 120 minutes in runtime and should be suitable for all audiences. For more information on the submissions process, go to the FilmRise website (http://filmrise.com/twc/) or email TWCDocs@FilmRise.com. TWC Local on Demand’s new documentary category, which will launch in late spring, will provide Time Warner Cable subscribers with curated, region-specific documentaries across a variety of genres – from heartfelt biographies to exposés. Titles will include “If These Knishes Could Talk,” an uproarious look at the history and development of the New York accent; “A Man Named Pearl,” the inspiring story of self-trained topiary artist Pearl Fryar and his garden in South Carolina; “Shakespeare High,” about a diverse group of California high school students competing in a drama competition; “The Unforeseen,” a visually stunning examination into the environmental consequences of a real estate development in Texas; and other celebrated and award-winning documentaries. The films will be available on TWC Local on Demand on channel 1020. Films will also be available on TWC Local on Demand on channel 1 and channel 1000 in Southern California; on channel 411 in Wisconsin, Ohio and Nebraska; and on channel 103 in Kentucky.
