HomeFeatureJets Sign Former Patriots Running Back Stevan Ridley Abner Jackson III Thursday, April 9, 2015 Feature, Sports, The Game The New York Jets agreed to terms with Running Back Stevan Ridley. The Jets signed the former New England Patriot to a one-year deal. Ridley spent his first four seasons with the Patriots. Ridley only appeared in six games last year, before suffering a season-ending injury. Ridley best season came in 2012 when he rushed for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns, all were career-highs. Ridley gives the Jets a running back that has rushed for over a 1,000 yards in a season and Ridley has the chance to become the Jets number one running back. Currently the Jets two main running backs are Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. Ridley should receive more carries with the Jets, the Patriots were a pass first offense and didn’t rely much on a running game. Ridley has a history of fumbling the ball and didn’t have any fumbles last season before getting the hurt. If Ridley can stay healthy and hold onto the ball the Jets have a legitimate starting running back. Photo credit: Elisa Amendola/AP
