The annual Black Girls Rock! televised event went underway on Sunday evening on BET. The 501 (c)3 non-profit organization continued their efforts in honoring the accomplishments of women of color who are a perfect example of a positive role model. This year, the lineup of entertainers stayed true to the theme that Black Girls Rock! Erykah Badu, Ciara, Jill Scott, Estelle, and others had the opportunity to grace the stage, while Jada Pinkett Smith, Cicely Tyson, Ava Duvernay, Dr. Helene Gayle and others accepted awards on behalf of their outstanding contributions to society.
