via press release… Yelawolf has once again tapped his friend and longtime producer, WLPWR, to produce 10 out of the 18 tracks on his new album, Love Story, which is currently #1 on iTunes. Pronounced “will power,” one of Atlanta’s hardest working producers, WLPWR, is proud of the work he’s done with Yelawolf since the beginning of his career. Responsible for producing Yelawolf’s Trunk Muzik mixtape in its entirety, nine songs from Trunk Muzik 0-60, nine songs from Radioactive, and the entire Trunk Muzik Returns mixtape, as well as “Middle of You” for Wiz Khalifa, “2.0 Boyz” for Slaughterhouse, “Delusional” for Tech N9ne, and more, WLPWR’s production skills have been heard by millions. As the founder of SupaHotBeats, one of the industry’s most influential music recording and production companies. WLPWR is an artist to watch. Speaking on WLPWR and his creative process Yelawolf explains, “As long as I’ve known him .. 10 plus years now. From the very hour we met, we had a record done. It was kinda like, ‘Oh there you are,’ like I had found the dude I had been waiting to meet. He’s got some of that most interesting sounds in ever heard. We may not speak for 4-6 months but when I call him he shows up like I seen him yesterday. I’m really hard on him in the studio – I’m a very very picky producer myself – but he just rolls with it and I appreciate that. We’re honest in the studio. The music comes out honest. That’s how I work. And thats how he works with me.” Speaking on his approach to working with artists, WLPWR says, “It’s pretty organic. I normally just kick it with the artist to see if they have a vision in mind and I start from there. Its mostly vibe from that point. People keep coming back to me because I’m really good at making the artist feel relaxed and in charge of the direction of a song or project. I’m also very professional about taking charge to produce the best product. I don’t have a signature style, but I do have a certain style to my drum programing and sound selection. My aim is to not have a signature style, actually. I’ve produced the most street, to the prettiest, to the most dramatic music. I’m very versatile. ‘Pop the Trunk’ is very different from ‘Till Its Gone.'” WLPWR is currently working with Travis Barker for his next album and will be releasing a mixtape called Free Game featuring Big K.R.I.T., Trinidad James, Bubba Sparxxx, Dizzy Wright, Yelawolf, and more on June 9th.
