Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter is suing the city of New York for $5 million. According to reports, 28 year-old Dominique Sharpton “severely injured, bruised and wounded” her ankle after stumbling on uneven pavement. This incident occurred at the corner of Broome Street and Broadway in October 2014. Her attorney, John Elefterakis, claims that Sharpton had “multiple ligament and tendon tears” and “has not had any involvement in selecting a figure that would be fair and adequate compensation for her pain and suffering. The number was selected by my firm and is meant as a safeguard for Ms. Sharpton in a worst-case scenario.” This is one of 885 claims filed with the city of NY in 2014-2015. So, uneven sidewalks and pedestrian cross ways are nothing uncommon and has caused injuries to many citizens. Sharpton insists that the injuries she’s suffered to her body, leaves her with permanent pain and mental anguish. Therefore, she’s seeking $5 million in damages for “loss of quality of life, future pain and suffering, future medical bills, [and] future diminution of income.” But, there’s one catch…Sharpton has been repeatedly seen (via Instagram) moving and shaking, out and about AND with heels on!
