Converse, Inc. has teamed up with studios across the globe for a cool new initiative. The company’s monumental new program, Converse Rubber Tracks, offers aspiring musicians a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record original music at one of 12 legendary studios for FREE. The Converse Rubber Tracks program will last two weeks. Registration for the program began on May 26 and ends on Wednesday, June 24. Participating studios include: Abbey Road Studios in London, England; Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, California; Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin, Germany; Tuff Gong in Kingston, Jamaica; Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland; The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada; Avast Recording Co. in Seattle, Washington; Stankonia in Atlanta, Georgia; Studios 301 in Sydney, Australia; Toca do Bandido in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the original brick-and-mortar Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, New York; and the second permanent Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Boston, Massachusetts, slated to open this summer. In this short video exclusive, Big Boi from Outkast discuss his personal recording experience at Stankonia in Atlanta, GA. As one-half of the legendary hip-hop group, Big Boi says he’s been recording in that studio for over 20 years. He understands Stankonia’s significance because the facility holds a certain energy, which has produced many hits for Big Boi, Outkast, and others who has recorded there. Artists (18 years and older) who want to register, can apply at www.Converse-Music.com/Worldwide. Applications will be allowed to pick their top three studio preferences. It is suggested that applicants submit a brief bio, written or videotaped along with their application. All artists chosen for the program will be contacted in July.
