Was the season 2 premiere of “Power” awesome or what?! On Saturday, June 6, STARZ Original series “Power” broke records with the premiere of its highly anticipated second season. The series, in fact, surpassed first season numbers with 1.08 million viewers. When the series premiered in June 2014, “Power” garnered just 462,000 viewers, which was approximately 32% less viewers than Saturday’s. Additionally, “Power” brought in 3.62 million Live + SD viewers over the entire weekend. This made season two of “Power” the second most watched series premiere for a STARZ Original series. The African-American demographic played a huge part in the success of the series premiere. 1.11 million African-Americans tuned in on Saturday, making “Power” the #1 show on all of cable television. ”Power” airs on STARZ at 9PM ET/PT.
