Actress Taraji P. Henson woke up with a huge grin on her face this morning. The 44-year-old actress took home the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series at last night’s Critics Choice TV Awards for her role as Cookie Lyons on “Empire.”
During her acceptance speech, Taraji P. Henson thanked Fox network for taking a risk on a hip hop/urban based program. She also expressed gratitude for having an opportunity to touch lives through acting. Also to win in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category was Lorraine Tussaint of “Orange is the New Black.”
