Verse Simmonds has released a video for “Situationships.” The song is the first single off of his forthcoming The Sextape Chronicles 3 album. In the video, the Virgin Islands-born singer/songwriter/producer comes through with real life outlook on how many relationships are handled. Verse Simmonds touches on the “rules” we often place on relationships and how, sometimes, choosing an alternative (or “out-the-box”) way of being in an relationship can prove to be a more positive experience for both parties. “‘Situationships’ is an honest perspective on a lot of relationships today,” Verse told Complex in a recent interview. “I think being in a ‘Situationship’ instead of being in a full blown relationship for some might allow both parties to be more open about their intentions. It’s the realist shit I’ve ever wrote. When people hear it, it makes them think about their situations because it’s so relatable and relevant. I love the video because it’s simple and focuses on the music and doesn’t distract from the message being conveyed. I took a walk through a lot of today’s relationships.” The man with the gifted pen will release Sextape Chronicles 3 in late 2015. Verse Simmonds has written chart-topping hits for Rihanna, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, R. Kelly, and many others.
