Enes Kanter Re-signs with Thunder for $70 Million

The Oklahoma City Thunder matched the offer sheet by the Portland Trailblazers to retain Enes Kanter. Kanter agreed to a four-year deal worth $70 million with the Thunder. Kanter has the player option on the fourth year. The Thunder received Kanter last season from the Utah Jazz in a trade. Kanter appeared in 26 games for the Thunder, averaging 18.7 points and 11 rebounds a game.

For the year, Kanter averaged 15.5 points and 8.9 rebounds. Kanter numbers went up when he was traded to the Thunder, his field goal percentage went from 49.1% to 56.6% after the trade. The Thunder finally got a reliable center that can score and rebound, so they made the right decision to match the offer sheet. Kanter is 23 years old, he should continue to get better. If he learns how to block shots, he could turn into an All-Star.
