The intricately-designed gold Uzi gun used as promo art captures the spirit of song immensely. “My Uzi” is the new single from David Banner’s forthcoming project The God Box. With his Mississippi comrade, Big K.R.I.T., Banner continues to shine light on social injustices that plague Black communities. Banner has spoken out against such issues and incidents like Mike Brown, the Baltimore riots, and Treyvon Martin. In “My Uzi,” his stance doesn’t change. “Lord, ain’t nothing been promisted lately. Police out here acting crazy. Shooting up black folks left and right. People out here die every night.” The hook, which is loop from the late Pimp C, also does a great job at summing up the mindsets of many Black Americans… “My Uzi weight a ton, ain’t got no bodyguard.
