André Benjamin aka André 3000 has been out-and-about a lot lately. Not just clubbing and supporting fellow artists, but also getting more acting credits under his belt. One half of the legendary hip-hop duo Outkast, is reported to star alongside Regina King in the second season of “American Crime.” The ABC drama series will feature André as Michael Lacroix, an architect and husband to Terri (Regina King). Malcom’s well-to-do family will find themselves caught up in a scandal that affects their son. John Ridley, the writer of “American Crime” and Jimi Hendrix biopic “Jimi: All is By My Side,” says he’s more than excited to be working with André again. “Personally, I couldn’t be more excited than to work again with André,” said Ridley in a statement. “He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and All is by My Side is one of the reasons I was given the reins on American Crime. Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by André’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say American Crime might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.” (via Deadline.com) That’s what’s up. Salute to André 3000! The only thing we as fans need now is some new music. 🙂
