HomeFeatureJulio Jones Signs Extension with Falcons Abner Jackson III Monday, August 31, 2015 Feature, Sports, The Game Wide Receiver Julio Jones signed a five-year extension to stay with the Atlanta Falcons. The deal is worth $71.25 million with $47.5 million guaranteed. The 26-year old is in the final year of his contract and will make around $10.17 million this upcoming season. Jones is a two-time Pro Bowler and is currently the highest paid receiver in guaranteed money in the NFL. Jones is currently the Falcons star player and Quarterback Matt Ryan favorite target. Jones had 104 catches for 1,593 yards and 6 touchdowns last season for the Falcons. Jones set the Falcons record with receiving yards in a season. Jones finished third in yards receiving in the NFL and second in the league with 106.2 yards receiving a game last season. Only four receivers in the NFL averaged 100 yards or more receiving a game with Jones being one of them. Jones led the league last season with 31 catches of 20 yards of more. The Falcons definitely made the right decision by opening their checkbook to pay Jones. The Ryan-Jones duo will be together at least until 2018 once Ryan contract is up and will continue to cause nightmares for opposing defenses.
