First, the Dogg Pound is working on a new film, now it’s none other than Russell Simmons and the legacy of Def Jam Recordings. There hasn’t been a real confirmation as of yet on the film. However, Universal is considering the project. According to Deadline.com, the film will be based off of Russell Simmons’s 2002 book, Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money + God. The book highlighted the early years of Def Jam and with the it being the brainchild of Simmon’s and Rick Rubin, followed the label from inception to becoming one of hip-hop’s most legendary labels. Who would you pick to play Russell Simmons, Rick Rubin, the group Run DMC, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow etc?
