The St. Louis Rams defeated the defending NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks 34-31 in overtime. Rams Kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked a 37-yard field goal to give the Rams the victory. Newly acquired Quarterback Nick Foles threw for 297 yards, 1 touchdown and had 1 rushing touchdown in his Rams debut. Rams Wide Receiver Tavon Austin struggled with 2 catches for -2 yards and made it up with a 16-yard touchdown run and returned a 75-yard punt for a touchdown. Photo credits: AP Russell Wilson passed for 251 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception for the Seahawks. Marshawn Lynch rushed for a game-high 73 yards for the Seahawks. Newly acquired Tight End Jimmy Graham had 6 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. Seattle Rookie Wide Receiver Tyler Lockett had 4 catches for 34 yards and scored the first touchdown of the game with 57-yard punt return. Kicker Steven Hauschka made all three of his field goals attempts for Seattle. Most of Seattle points came off of field goals and defense/special teams. Cornerback Cary Williams returned a fumble for a touchdown for the Seahawks. This is only the first game of the season and this was a NFC West division game. The Rams looked like they found a good QB that’s healthy and this is a good note to start the season on. The NFC West division will be very competitive again this season from the looks of it.
