STEP It Up: Stephon Marbury Returns with Signature Sneaker ‘Starbury’

Stephon Marbury, for those of you whom have forgotten, is an American NBA basketball player. He has been playing overseas in China for the past few years,  but will be returning in retail stores with his collection of “Starbury’ sneakers.

In China, Marbury lead the Beijing Ducks to win three Chinese Basketball Association championships. Marbury has not achieved this type of success in the NBA, but he has played in two All- Star Games and developed his own signature sneaker line ‘Starbury.’

When ‘Starbury’ was sold at Steve and Barry’s, the signature kicks cost sneaker lovers – and fans of Marbury – $15.00. This was back in 2009 in comparison to other pro-athlete basketball shoes, which were selling for $100 a pop. Now that Marbury is reconstructing the new inexpensive sneaker, the price might be accommodating as well.

Marbury’s inspiration for selling his pro sneakers at a low cost derived from his adolescent years when he remembered how he could not afford to pay for basketball shoes. According to Marbury’s Instagram account, “God is God, Love is God…LOVE IS LOVE!” Starbury’s are ‘coming soon’.

He did not give an official release date or pricing information for the sneaker, so stay tuned.
