T.I. stopped by Hot 97 recently and discussed a bevy of topics. One subject that surprised some hip-hop fans is his present relationship with rapper Iggy Azalea. The past two years was a trying year for the Aussie artist. T.I., her manager/mentor, found himself in the middle of public spats with Azealia Banks, Q-tip and others. Apparently, the final straw was Iggy’s Twitter beef with hip-hop veteran Q-tip. In his interview with Ebro, T.I. says that after so many incidents, it was time to move on. “After the Q-Tip thing… After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished],” he said. “I’ma be all the way real, I’m a loyal partner. If I rock with you I’m gon’ rock with you…I really do feel that they [Iggy’s team] just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they [Iggy’s team] can do. They have the talent, they have the charisma.” T.I. still believes in Iggy’s talent and capability to become a even bigger artist. He understands the delicacy of that type of artist and deals with some of the same issues with Travi$ Scott. To hear T.I. discuss Iggy, start at the 3:00 mark. Da’ Nic EP is out now on iTunes. Stay tuned for T.I.’s album The Dime Trap coming later this year.
