By: Antoinette Alston, contributing intern Canadian vocalist The Weeknd has done it again by replacing his #1 song “Can’t feel my Face,” which dropped to no. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with “The Hills” moving up from no. 2. He has made it known that he can entertain alongside the greats with his debut album, Beauty Behind the Madness. It has been the top selling album for 3 weeks in a row. The Weeknd is the 12th person to achieve this victory of replacing their #1 song on the charts. Taylor Swift was able to accomplish it back in 2014 with her song’s “Shake It Off” & “Blank Space.” T.I. was the last male solo artist to replace his top song “Whatever You Like” with “Live Your Life” in 2008. Other A-list artists whom have accomplished this goal includes: Usher, Boyz II Men, Diddy, Nelly, The Blackeyed Peas, Ja Rule, OutKast, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley. The Weeknd seems to be unstoppable and fans just can’t get enough of the R&B vocalist. He has proven that he is no one-hit-wonder. What will be his next triumph?
