HomeBusiness & FinanceBillionaire Richard Branson Says He’s Fed Up with “War on Drugs” admin Wednesday, October 21, 2015 Business & Finance, Feature, The Receipt Billionaire Richard Branson is fed up with the global “war on drugs” movement. The self-made mogul recently discussed his disgust with how governments have wasted billions trying to create a drug-free world. He believes that after trying so long, it’s ridiculous that our governments have yet to seize control of the criminal organizations that run the global drug trade. “I’ve for years argued that we should treat drug use as a health issue, not as a crime,” Branon said. “While the vast majority of recreational drug users never experience any problems, people who struggle with drug addiction deserve access to treatment, not a prison cell.” Branson, who serves as commissioner at Global Commission on Drug Policy, says that the UK and other countries should decriminalize drugs. With places like the U.S. slowly legalizing marijuana across all states, globally, this shift in attitude towards drugs isn’t making an impact. By this, Branson says we are losing badly, financially. “As an investment, the war on drugs has failed to deliver any returns. If it were a business, it would have been shut down a long time ago. This is not what success looks like.” Source: CNN DO YOU AGREE WITH RICHARD BRANSON REGARDING DECRIMINALIZING DRUGS?
