Parents beat child to death….

A New York couple is facing manslaughter charges after the beating death of their 19 year-old son. Bruce Leonard, 65, and Deborah Leonard, 50, are being held on a $100,000 bail each after killing their son. Police reports state that for hours the couple allegedly beat their son Lucas Leonard during a family church counseling session. In addition to beating Lucas, four other church parishioners also have been charged with assaulting the couple’s youngest son Christopher Leonard age 17.

“Both brothers were continually subjected to physical punishment over the course of several hours in the hopes that each would confess to prior sins and ask for forgiveness,” Michael Inserra, chief of the New Hartford Police, said at a news conference. Since the investigation, several children have been removed from their parents and the church and placed in Oneida County Child Protective Services.
