DayCare Owner Battles Parent

Montana daycare owner fights to protect children….

Martha McClure could never have been prepared for that sunny day in October. McClure has been in childcare for 20 years and has almost been in every situation except – more recently – when she had to fight for her life.

Francis Joseph Jackson came into McClure’s Daycare center without legal custody, drunk and irate demanding to take is children. McClure refused to hand over the three children all under the age of 4. Jackson and his girlfriend became very upset and, from there, things took a turn for the worse.

“I knew he was going to throttle me, he was going to pound me, but he wasn’t going to get back in the house,” McClure said. McClure asked her assistant to go into the house and lock all the doors while she called 911. “We hadn’t practiced this,” she said, but “we all worked together like a well-oiled machine. I attribute it to the fact that we’re all mothers.” Jackson and McClure began to fight and all of a sudden Jackson’s girlfriend hit McClure in the face with a snow shovel. McClure is fine and has undergone eyes surgery and is now back at work. As for Jackson he was arrested in Washington State.
