Ja Rule’s new reality show premiered last night on MTV. The show features his family dynamic in “Follow the Rules.” The veteran hip-hop star allows the cameras in to his world and – we must admit – this first episode was a good first impression. On episode one, Ja Rule’s daughter Brittney pull a fast one with a “pretend” boyfriend. Since her dad nixed a girls trip to Miami, Brittney decides to drive Ja Rule crazy by bringing home this boyfriend. In the midst of that, Lil Rule (Jeff) and the youngest child, Jordy, go along for a ride with the Grandma’s. Yes, Grandma Jean is learning how to drive for the first time and guess who’s teaching her…Grandma Debra. This episode was a great start for Ja Rule and his family. Everyone in the family seems to have a bit of personality, which is good for television. And also, for some reason, family-oriented reality shows always seem to go across well with viewers (i.e. “Run’s House,” “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle” etc).
