Racial divide is more prevalent than ever and a few celebrities are coming together to push for change. In a two-hour concert event, the A+E Network, Pharrell Williams, John Legend and others will shine a light on the realities of racial inequality. The event, Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race, will air on November 20th at 8:00PM. The concert will feature performances by Andra Day, Tom Morello, Smokey Robinson and Big Sean, Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, Jamie Foxx, Rhiannon Giddens, Tori Kelly, John Legend, Miguel, Pink, Jill Scott, Ed Sheeran, Sia, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Pharrell Williams performing once-in-a-lifetime series of duets, focused on creating reconciliation and positive change in local communities. This event was inspired by the response of the Mother Emanuel family members in Charleston and others working for reconciliation and change around the country. LL Cool J, Morgan Freeman, George Lopez and Nick Young are among the presenters joining the telecast. After the concert, A+E will air “Shining a Light: Conversations on Race in America” at 10:00PM ET. Artists and local residents across the country will dialogue about racial injustices in Charleston, Ferguson and Chicago. The conversation will open the door for solutions to overcome these misunderstandings and foster positive growth along racial lines.
