Rihanna is getting to the money and helping others out along the way! Her latest venture is none other than a beauty and stylist agency. Yes, Rihanna has launched Fr8me, alongside Benoit Demouy (formerly of the Tracey Mattingly agency). Fr8me will be based in Los Angeles and will help makeup artists, hair and wardrobe stylists book commercial shoots, editorial campaigns, and red-carpet gigs. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rihanna says these glam team positions has always been a major part of her evolution. “Hair, makeup and styling play an important role in creativity. I am very involved with that part of my process, so this agency was an organic thing for me to do.” So far, there’s a decent list of talented artists already signed to the agency: Mylah Morales (Rihanna’s MUA), Jason Bolden (wardrobe stylist for Taraji P. Henson), hairstylists Patricia Morales (Evan Rachel Wood, Fergie) and Marcia Hamilton (Jada Pinkett Smith and the Smith family). “We are lucky enough to have some of the best artists at Fr8me,” adds Rihanna, “but I also have a soft spot for finding new talent with extraordinary skills!” Fr8me will also house its own photo agency, A Dog Ate My Homework. Photographers Erik Asla and Deborah Anderson are currently on its roster. “Our goal is to have a stellar reputation,” says Demouy. “The industry’s changed so much — rates have gone down, and clients just grab images off social media, trying to bypass paying artists. But we’re concerned with social media, too — we’ll take a makeup artist with 500,000 followers over someone else.” To learn more about Fr8me, head on over to their official website at www.fr8me.com.
