Jeezy recently gave viewers insight on his political (and social) stance while on MSNBC. He was a guest on “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall” sharing dialogue with host Tamron Hall. The rap artist Jeezy talked about his evolution as a man and recognizing his role as an artist. His latest project “Church In These Streets” faintly resembles the tone delivered on Jeezy’s platinum-selling Recession album. As Hall stated, it’s almost “perfect timing” that he’s released such an album that talks about the social injustices and mental state of African-Americans and young men that are being failed by the system. Jeezy says as an artist he understands his obligation to be that voice that helps calm the nerves so to speak. “My voice is a tool to kind of, I guess, calm the temperature down on things. And try to get some type of understanding. I almost feel sometimes as far as who we are as artists and as leaders – and we get caught up in our lives and things that we want – sometimes forget about the people that put us there.” Jeezy also shared his thoughts on Ben Carson’s new attempt to sway the Black vote with a ‘rap’ song, the debate between Donald Trump and Ben Carson, and the protests in Missouri.
