Thank you all! We shifted culture with this one. From the sweaters to the families lives we helped change. Couldn’t have done it without everyone support. This Dabbin Santa project employees over 70 people this holiday season… Effected families lives. And we aren’t done yet. Actions speak louder than words so just know the charity isn’t gonna stop because the holidays are over. The creative genius of 2 Chainz and his team showed the public exactly what could “financially’ happen when an idea is executed at the RIGHT time. Who knew a Santa Claus character with the stiff arm could become so trendy?? Well, it did. The “Dabbin’ Santa” Ugly Christmas sweaters made 2 Chainz $2 million dollars richer. He recently discussed with Forbes how the sweater process went about. “I don’t want people to think this was an overnight success,” Chainz told Forbes. “We’ve been trying with a bunch of designs for a couple years now. This is just timing meets opportunity.” The demand for the sweater became so huge that 2 Chainz hired a 70-person team to fulfill orders. “There’s the whole dab thing, and Atlanta’s always been somewhere that actually moves the culture a little bit. We have been the backbone of hip-hop for the past couple years. So with dabbing coming out of Atlanta, it just began to grow legs and start moving on its own,” he explains. “We made close to $2 million in revenue,” he also revealed. As hoped, 2 Chainz took a portion of the proceeds and donated it to his T.R.U. Foundation. Over the Christmas holiday, the rapper paid one year’s rent and furnished apartments for a disabled veteran and single mother. He also hosted the annual T.R.U. 2 Hoops basketball classic, which is geared for children ages 10 to 13. To see more photos from the annual event, check out 2 Chainz Instagram page @hairweavekiller !
