HomeFeatureFamily Members Unhappy About New Pimp C Album admin Friday, December 4, 2015 Feature, Music, The Studio Today is the eighth anniversary of Pimp C’s death. To commemorate his untimely death and hip hop legacy, the wife of Pimp C, Chinara Butler, released a new album called Long Live The Pimp. Unfortunately, Pimp C’s sons are not too happy about the album. They say that they were left out of the creative process and monetary outcome of the album. Here’s a statement issued by Chad Jr. “I want Pimp C fans to know that his family – myself and my younger brother Corey Butler – had no part in the creation of this ‘new’ Pimp C album and don’t receive any of the benefits from album sales. The only person who benefits is his wife Chinara (Butler), who doesn’t return phone calls or communicate with us at all, and possibly our sister Christian, but even that is debatable. My father was always supportive of myself and my brother, and I know he wouldn’t want us to be forgotten as a part of his legacy.” – Chad Butler Jr. WWPCD? What would Pimp C do? Chinara spearheaded this project but there has to be a reason why she didn’t included the kids. Maybe she didn’t think the boys could contribute to the album in a way that was beneficial. We don’t know, but hopefully more to the story will come out soon. Until then, Pimp C fans can go purchase Long Live The Pimp now on iTunes and in-stores.
