With only two albums in, Kendrick Lamar has made a huge impact on the music industry. His second release “To Pimp A Butterfly” is undeniably one of the best rap albums of 2015. Apparently, the Recording Academy understands this as well. This morning, the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards® nominations came in. Kendrick Lamar leads nominations with 11, followed by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd with 7. Kendrick Lamar joins other talented artists in categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album just to name a few. According to the Recording Academy, nominations were selected from more than 21,000 submissions. Members of The Academy include peers from every aspect of the music industry (i.e. songwriters, producers, artists, and engineers).
