What’s despicable is when a person refuses to pay you after you’ve done a service. What is even worse is people not paying you because they think “since you already got money, then you don’t need this little extra.” This is the case that has brought me out of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” hibernation. Yes, I had to take a break from reality show recaps because it was simply becoming redundant story lines and way too much nonsense. However, since Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker and Phaedra Parks is having this excessively extended disagreement about an unpaid DVD, then I said why not put my two cents in on the matter.
For the past eight episodes, RHOA Season 9 has shined more light on the Kandi & Phaedra beef. The slippage of their friendship began last season when Phaedra questioned Kandi’s ability to be a “good friend”. This season, Kandi’s husband Todd is fed up with Phaedra and Apollo for not paying him in full for production completed on their fitness DVD. Kandi is caught in the middle of the fued, but we know that at the end of the day she’s is going to choose her man over a “sometimey” friend like Phaedra. During a meeting at Phaedra’s office, she gave Todd a BS excuse as to why she hasn’t paid him the remaining $8,425. “It has been a very rough time for me so my priority was my family and health,” says Phaedra.
Yes, we all know Apollo was sent back to prison and she’s left with two kids to raise. They’ve avoided paying Todd for over two years. Out of all that cash that Apollo was scamming up, he could have easily paid off this DVD debt. If you can waist $15K in a strip club, you can pay Todd his money. And, Phaedra is a well-established lawyer. Why is she acting like Todd’s outstanding balance isn’t a priority? Hell, I’m sure she keeps those lights on each month for her kids. Todd Tucker Productions is a business just like any other business. He should be paid.
Now, I did’t understand why Porsha and Kandi’s manager Don Juan became so engulfed in the beef. But, everyone needs to add “meat” to their story line, right? *rolls eyes*
If Phaedra doesn’t settle her debt by the end of the season, as a business, Todd should send it to collections. Allow this unpaid balance to affect Phaedra’s credit. Or take her to court. Just because she’s an attorney, doesn’t mean she will win the case and not forced to pay the money.
Honestly, what I believe Phaedra isn’t paying up because she thinks that this money is a small thing to Todd and Kandi. The happy couple may be financially set, however, no one should assume that $8,425 isn’t a lot of money. Even to a rich person, it’s a lot of money. And like Todd said, it’s all about the principle.
On Sunday evening, Kandi took to Instagram to clarify a few things and to defend her husband…
