When will Chateau Sheree ever be finished? It’s taking several years for this home to be built and it seems like the process is causing more trouble than good. On January 11th, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Sheree Whitfield filed a lawsuit against her insurance company. She’s asking for $279,940.56 in damages for expenses not covered by her insurance after a water leak destroyed her property. According to reports, the water leak occurred in early 2014 as construction continued on her $15,000 sq. ft. home. The lawsuit states that the frozen pipes exploded and damaged the home, which is why Whitfield hired Guyco Plumbing & Home Improvements to fix the damage. The reality television star also hired Standard Chemical Inc. to dry out the water damage and a freelance insurance adjuster to check for molding. The two hired their own appraiser and a third to help them mutually agree on the cost for repairs. Whitefield, however, felt that the third appraiser was bias to the insurance company. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out for Sheree Whitfield. On another note, if she wins this lawsuit, Whitfield may have to use some of that money to pay a contracting company for work done on the home. A petition was filed back in December 2014 by Stoploss Specialists, Inc, which claims that Whitfield owes them $23,000. The emergency response contractor says that they were hired “to supply equipment, labor and/or materials for the improvement” of the home. The petition states that Whitfield owes $15, 450 in unpaid bills (plus late fees and other charges). No word on the outcome of this petition.
