Who doesn’t like Cardi B?! If you’re like me, you had no idea who she was until the latest season of “Love & Hip Hop New York.” It is her rambunctious spirit that caught my attention, but little did I know, I was late. Cardi B has a huge following (over 1 million followers on Instagram) that has watched her blossom into who she is today…a rapper. The former stripper turned reality television star dropped her first mixtape last week. On the mixtape, she holds it down for the guys and girls who listen to hardcore rap music. Gangsta B*tch Music Vol. 1 lives up to its name as Cardi B keeps it trill about her lifestyle. Truth be told, this project surprised me. Cardi B’s music puts you in the mindframe of Lil Kim and Trina. She’s straight gutter with it, yet come with a positive message for young girls. And, that is what made this project much more appealing. Cardi B is making sure young kids don’t travel the same path she has.
