Eve Gets Her Shot to ‘Ring The Bell’ at NYSE

For 60 years, presidents, athletes, celebrities, and even animals, have rung the bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Now, rapper/actress Eve can write the experience down in her history book.

This week, Eve posted a photo on Instagram of her at the NYSE. She was in New York to promote her upcoming film “Barbershop 3.”

“I’ve been to a lot of places in the world BUT I am sooooo excited to be here on the floor of the #NY #StockExchange 😁 about to ring the closing bell!! #mypricejustwentup 😝”

Eve joins Eva Longoria, Hillary Clinton, Usher, Ronald Reagan, Nick Cannon and a long list of other notables who were granted the opportunity to go inside the prestigious trading building. For celebrities, the experience is a great way to promote or send a message to Wall Street and the moneymakers who run the world.

A little back history…the first non-Wall Street person to ring the bell was 10-year-old Leonard Ross in 1956. He won $100,000 for answering correctly questions about the NYSE on the then-popular television program “The Big Surprise.” The popularity of “ringing the bell” grew over the years as media outlets and social media platforms increased.
