Super Bowl LIIII is coming to Atlanta in 2019 and the fans are serious about Outkast performing. An Outkast fan, Dustin Spa, started a petition on Change.org to gain support from other fans. As soon as it was announced that Atlanta would get another shot at hosting the coveted football celebration, social media exploded. “If you want Outkast at the Atlanta Super Bowl in 2019, use the hashtag #OutkastForSuperBowlLIII,” one fan wrote. Spa decided to take another route and start a petition. In the petition, it reads “No one represents Atlanta like OUTKAST. They are the greatest group of all time, who better to perform at the halftime show in their hometown? (well Big Boi is from Savannah but you get the point).Share on all social media and make this happen.” As of last night, Spa’s petition had 140 signatures. Click here to sign. In 2004, Outkast were invited to perform at the Super Bowl, but later turned it down due to Andre 3000. During an appearance on “The Dan LeBatard Show,” Big Boi stated that Dre didn’t want to shorten their songs as the NFL requested. “[Andre] didn’t want to cut the songs, he wanted to do the full songs. He said, ‘Nah, can’t do it.’” At the time, Big Boi tried to convince his partner to change his mind, but 3 Stacks stood his ground. He also said “hopefully they invite us back.” Well, let’s hope the NFL have a change of heart and invite the fellas back. Photo: Billboard.com
