Fox Television Network is taking another stab at a gossip show with “Page Six TV.” Not to be compared with TMZ, “Page Six TV” will pull from the pages of their own witty gossip columns in the New York Post. The television show will feature a panel of contributors who will keep viewers up-to-date on celebrity gossip and exclusives news. NY Post publisher, Jesse Angelo, tells Variety… “With ‘Page Six TV,’ we’ll explore a new medium and grow our reach. It will be a true New York Post product – smart, funny, biting, and entertaining, covering the people and topics that make this city, and the world, tick.” “Page Six TV” will begin a 3-week test run on July 18. Check your local listings for time and channel. It’s going to be interesting to see how well Page Six holds up against TMZ. Harvey and the crew have created a hugely popular viewership and the challenge will be to see who will have the exclusive(s) first and how quickly they can report it. The NY Post/Page Six is great at publishing news that involve the inner workings of the rich and fab and prestigious. This is favorably different than the type of news that TMZ reports. If “Page Six TV” can stick to script of being a more high-end version of TMZ, then Fox may have a winner.
