Afeni Shakur, the mother of hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur, has passed away at the age of 69. According to reports, Shakur died after a possible cardiac arrest suffered on Monday night (May 2). San Francisco’s Marin County deputies responded to Shakur’s home in Sausalito, but was soon rushed to a local hospital at which she died. The Marin County Coroner’s Office will lead the investigation to find out what exactly caused Shakur’s death. In recent news, Shakur filed for divorce from Gus Davis. The two were married for 12 years. Director Benny Boom is in the process of filming a biopic of the late Tupac Shakur. The production crew has shot scenes in and around Atlanta, which is closely located to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts of which Afeni Shakur founded. Afeni will be depicted in the film.
