Jay Chou Casts Role in ‘Now You See Me 2’ Movie

Chinese pop star Jay Chou is going to show his talent to the Hollywood big screen. Audiences in the United States maybe not familiar enough with this Chinese super star. In April, official news claimed that he will cast to star in Lionsgate’s new film, “Now You See Me 2.”

Born in 1979, Jay Chou is soon to be the most famous pop star in China. He started his career as a pop singer in 2000; composed and lyricized the majority of his songs. At that time, he was not successful because his singing style was quite different from the traditional Chinese singers’ style. His pronunciations were not clear enough, and he also added some R&B into his songs, which were not acceptable to Chinese listeners. However, in 2001, one of his songs named “Shuang Jiegun” suddenly became popular among young generations. His album in that year “Fantexi” developed his Chinese and Western combined style.
