By: Jaelyn Aleise, contributing intern (@_JaeAleise_) The 2016 Summer Olympics are approaching rapidly and the Team USA basketball roster is starting to come together. There are currently nine basketball players confirmed to represent Team USA and twelve players who denied their invitation. Lebron James is reportedly the only undecided player. Furthermore, sources say the 2016 NBA Champ and Finals MVP is strongly considering sitting this one out and rest his body for next season. If he decides to change his mind, he could possibly be the first American men’s basketball player to win four Olympic medals. “I could use the rest,” James told Team USA via his agent. Here is a list of players that will definitely be competing in this year’s Olympics: Carmelo Anthony Kevin Durant DeMarcus Cousins Paul George Deandre Jordan Draymond Green Jimmy Butler Kyle Lowry DeMar DeRozan Here are the players that have decided not to compete this year: Russell Westbrook Stephen Curry John Wall Blake Griffin Andre Drummond James Harden LaMarcus Aldridge Anthony Davis Chris Paul Kawhi Leonard Damian Lillard Kobe Bryant (of course) The Olympic Games will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5th to August 21st.
