De La Soul is about to release their ninth studio album, And The Anonymous Nobody. It’s been 11 years since Posdnuous, Maseo, and Dave dropped their last album, The Grind Date, which was released in 2004. Since then, they’ve continued to record and tour across the globe. But for fans, this wasn’t enough. In March 2015, De La Soul launched Kickstarter campaign to help fund their upcoming album. The campaign raised over $110,000 in less than a day. The original release date for And The Anonymous Nobody was April 26th. However, delays with the confirmation of guest features pushed the date back to August 26, 2016. The first single off of the 17-track album is “Pain”, which features Snoop Dogg. The album also features Damon Albarn, David Byrne, Usher, Pete Rock and Little Dragon. De La Soul recently hit the stage at the annual Governor’s Ball in NYC. The trio also took a moment to share tidbits about their music career with The Knocks and Bob Moses. In the video above, they talk about the new album and what else they’re working on.
