Already! Frank Ocean debuted his second studio album Blond on Saturday. Now, the accompanying rare magazine/cd combo is being hawked off on EBay. When Frank Ocean announced to his fans that an exclusive combo pack would appear at several pop-up shops, fans wasted no time. First, people stood in line in Los Angeles to get a hold on their very own “Boys Don’t Cry” mylar package. The package carries a punk-inspired fan sheet, with a thick issue of “Boys Don’t Cry 001” and a copy of his latest album. The magazine contains photos, short essays and poetry by Ocean, Kanye West, Wolfgang Tillmans, and other. This unique marketing tactic was also free…to whomever got their hands on one. Quickly, however, the zine combo pack popped up online. On EBay, copies are being listed for as high as $2,000. Only 400 copies were available at the L.A. pop-up.
