After an article published by Spin suggested a “a simple way to help” the rap star, fans took to Twitter to jump off the #HotInHerreStreamingParty hashtag. To knock off the debt, fans will have to stream “Hot in Herre” 287,176,547 times. In return, Nelly will receive $0.0084 per stream and 100% of the payout for streaming fees. “Hot in Herre” garnered Nelly his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. He’s also got state tax trouble — earlier this year, the Missouri Department of Revenue said the St. Louis rapper owed $149,511 in unpaid state taxes from 2013.
