Jay Z is rumored to have offered Prince’s family $40 million for the rights to the late singers unreleased music. TMZ reports that Jay Z met with Prince’s sister, Tyka, and her husband Maurice Phillips, just a few weeks ago. He reportedly flew Tyka Maurice to New York for a meeting. But before Jay Z can become the rightful owner or Prince’s work, the Roc Nation CEO must first get all of the singer’s siblings (and half-siblings) to sign off on the sale. As for now, Jay is in the running to get overall streaming rights of Prince’s catalogue. However, $40 million may not be enough to fully persuade Prince’s estate.
