On Monday night (Oct. 17), A24 Films, in partnership with the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), hosted a private screening of the new film ‘Moonlight‘ at Regal Atlantic Station in Atlanta. Moonlight’s cast members were in attendance (Naomie Harris, Janelle Monae, and Trevante Rhodes) along with the film’s writer and director Barry Jenkins. After the screening, the writer and cast sat for a Q&A, which also included AAFCA president Gil Robertson and NYU professor Frank Roberts. Moonlight is a film that dives into the life of one African-American young man who deals with masculinity, sexuality, and the sensitivity of developing personal relationships. Moonlight hits theaters on November 4. Early screenings will be held on October 21 in New York and Los Angeles and on October 28 in Atlanta.
