The “Shoe Oscars” went underway last week and named the Fenty by Rihanna as Shoe of the Year. The Shoe Oscars is the brainchild of Footwear News. Individuals and brands are honored for their achievements in the footwear industry. The Fenty by Rihanna creepers has been a popular sneaker since its first release in 2015. No matter the color – white, black, or neutral – the Puma shoe stay sold out online and in-stores. “In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined an honor like ‘shoe of the year,’” Rihanna said in a press release. “It means so much to me to make a mark like this in the shoe and sneaker industry and to have so many people share my love for the creeper.” Past Shoe of the Year award winners have included Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost 350 with Adidas and Stan Smith’s.
