Gabrielle Union is smiling a little brighter now that her lawsuit with BET is settled. The two parties have reached an amicable agreement in Union’s breach of contract lawsuit against the network. According to Deadline, BET released the following statement after coming to terms with the “Being Mary Jane” star: “BET Networks is pleased to announce that they have reached an amicable agreement with Gabrielle Union and look forward to sharing the new season of Being Mary Jane with its loyal fans beginning January 10, 2017.” No comment was provided by Union’s camp. Back in October, we detailed Union’s claim against BET. Her filing claims BET wanted to shoot seasons 4 and 5 together in hopes of avoiding paying Union a contractually obligated, per-episode raise. Union was seeking over a million dollars in damages.
