Beyonce’s body is the inspiration for a multi-million dollar real estate project in Melbourne, Australia. The “Beyonce Tower,” so to speak, was mentioned in Architecture & Design and is designed by Elenberg Fraser. Located at Spencer and Bourke Street in Melbourne, the 79-story Premier Tower is a mixed-use space with apartments, hotel guestrooms, cafes and retail spaces. There will be 796 condo apartments available and will offer up 187 rooms for hotel guests. Its twists and turns recall a “woman dancing in black cloth” – the woman being Beyonce who, wrapped in flowing, fluid black fabric, similarly shows off curves in her Ghost music video. The building’s deceptively complex form, however, is not the result of just fun and games, with Elenberg Fraser adding that it is the best possible solution to wind, solar and massing criteria and requirements.
